Wāhine – Personalised Support for Whare Tangata (Reproductive Health)

At Whakapakari Ora, we are dedicated to supporting the well-being of wāhine (women) with a specialised focus on whare tangata (reproductive system) health. Through personalised care and education, we guide individuals and roopū (groups) on their journey to better understand their bodies and overall health.

Whare Tangata (Reproductive Health)

We provide education and support for ikura (menstrual cycles) and help manage a range of reproductive health concerns, offering natural care rooted in Rongoā Māori traditions.

Areas of Support:

  • Hormonal Imbalance
  • PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)
  • Endometriosis
  • Menopause
  • Painful Menstrual Cycles
  • Thrush

Specialist Care for Wāhine and Whānau

In addition to reproductive health, we offer dedicated support for māmā (mothers) and tamariki (children), providing care for wāhine at every stage of life. From guiding rangatahi (teens) through their first cycles to supporting hapū māmā (pregnant mothers) and māmā me pēpi (mothers with babies), our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of wāhine and their whānau.

Areas of Support:

  • Māmā and Rangatahi (Mums and Teens)
  • Māmā and Pēpi (Mums and Babies)
  • Menopausal Wāhine (Women navigating menopause)

Our Approach

Through Rongoā Māori practices, we aim to nurture hormonal balance, emotional well-being, and physical health. Every consultation and service is tailored to the individual, honouring the traditions of Rongoā Māori and the unique needs of each wāhine.

Whakapakari Ora invites you to walk with us on a journey of reconnection, healing and mātauranga Māori.

Our wānanga and events are open to the public and grounded in kaupapa Māori values of manaakitanga, wairuatanga, and kaitiakitanga. These spaces are created to uplift community wellbeing, share traditional knowledge, and strengthen our connection to te taiao (the natural world).

We offer a range of experiences throughout the motu, including:

  • 🌿 Rongoā Workshops – hands-on learning in mirimiri, rongoā rākau (native plant medicine), and traditional healing practices
  • 🚶♀️ Hīkoi Series – guided nature walks exploring rākau Māori, pūrākau (storytelling), and spiritual grounding
  • 🧶 Weaving Workshops – collaborative raranga experiences delivered with our hoa mahi at Kahu Collective, weaving both fibres and community
  • 🧘♀️ Guided Meditations & Wairua Practices – calming sessions to align wairua and hinengaro, grounded in maramataka and te taiao
  • 🩺 Koha-Based Community Clinics – accessible mirimiri and holistic rongoā services offered with aroha

Our events align with the maramataka (Māori lunar calendar), creating opportunities to attune with the natural rhythms of the moon and environment.
